Glumphett, they tell you specifically on the bottom in faint white text that, the product effects may vary, thats enough to make it not illegal, just because you cant make yourself look like that doesnt mean others cant get what im saying? so technically its not illegal.

It's not really the photo editor's fault what happends. It's their right to do it if they have permission. That's part of what freedom is. If you don't like it, you have the right to expose it, but never the right to ban it.

I guess we shouldn't wear makeup either, since that covers up the way we really look. -_- Really though, everybody knows that photos are retouched for magazines. Photoshop is not the problem. Young girls who end up desperately chasing perfection are looking at REAL people (it's all those super-skinny models who are the real issue, not some Photoshopped-away wrinkles!) and to suggest that they don't know photos are retouched is a little ridiculous.

Just like the Beauty Pageant Competitions are a fuckin rip off, where most of the winners visited the plastic surgeons..., not once, but a few times. Women from Venezuela and Colombia are famous for doing that!

I guess there's some truth. You can't control the exaggerated will of American Women who strive to look better. A lot of them aren't happy with themselves, which is ridiculous. If people would just see the "talent" or gift they were born with and go for it and other people who have a different one would just quit going for the same one (fashion) it would make it a lot easier to cut down on nearly fake pictures.

Wanna to ban the Olympics because you can't achieve the same level as the people out there? Same with this - there are people out there that look like that, maybe they aren't common, but they do exist. Banning photo retouching is a stupid idea. The lady talking about reaching for the "impossible" doesn't seem to notice how many impossible things we see every day. Movies, ect have far more impossible things. It won't happen, until we have a totalitarian society that makes everyone "equal."

I think the real problem for me is the issue of who is the person actually incarcerating these standards. Who is the person clicking the mouse at the end of the day. I don't know very many women who work on staff as fashion photographers, and I just graduated college for photography in Chicago. Since the dawn of photography, men have been behind the camera introducing new insecurities. Women in magazines represent a fantasy that men have of women.

hell no. hahah that is a fuckin rip off XP

Utter bullshit. Once again, people don't know who to blame for their fat rolls. Also, retouching has been used even before photoshop was released, this is how the industry works. magazines are NOT real life in any way, anyone who tries to imitate that is hopeless and deserves the fate he chooses for himself.

If you try to be a model that does this "be perfect" then they're stupid, photoshop is just like any other art, its just there to open your mind to something new in the world.
