Almost all modern music evolved from the classics. And classical music evolved on its own and from other forms. Music has and always will be an evolutionary process. One thing I will say is that clasical music is the ultimate art form as far as complexity, brilliance and sheer beauty and it has not been improved on since.

To this day classical music remains the most beautiful music. It has never been improved on and the great masters like Beethoven are still the greatest.
