Usually not. Because sometimes they put things that cost money for free. It's like stealing. But that doesn't mean that all torrents have illegal contents. But if you're looking for movies, music, or programs you better be safe and use Amazon or iTunes for music and just buy DVD's or pay for the movie online ( from iTunes) and get programs from the owner's site or buy it.

Torrent is not illegal; the content with copyrights publish in torrent is illegal. It depends on you.

I usually use uTorrent to download ripped-movies or musics, ebooks or whatever interesting(sometimes). I think it likes you go to your friends, and, you borrow his new bought DVDs to go home and watch! Torrents is friendly and not-illegal.

Yes my mistake, you are right, it is micro torrent. I looked it up, but the symbol is also a greek letter.

in electronics it is the symbol used for 'micro' and micro is contextually correct in this instance
